The Why
We are in a very interesting time on Earth. The systems we live in are clearly not working, and there's a growing curiosity in alternative ways to move through this world. The reemergence of sound as a healing modality is no surprise. The famous mystic Edgar Cayce was quoted saying “Sound is the medicine of the future." Well, the future is now and sound is the medicine. But why sound?
We can begin to understand how sounds works by recognizing that everything in the Universe is in a state of vibration. The Ancients knew what was up and now our modern day quantum physicists give the thumbs up. Vibration is the fabric of the Universe.
In the sound healing paradigm, there is a concept that if something is vibrating it is also creating a sound: Sound and vibration are synonymous. Samsies! But we humans have a small range of audible perception. We can only perceive sound from around 16Hz to up to 16,000 Hz (these are average numbers). If a sound falls below our range of hearing, or what is called infrasound, we can’t hear it. If a sound falls above our range of hearing, called ultrasound, we can’t hear it. The important thing to remember is just because we don’t hear a sound, that doesn’t mean there isn’t a sound there.
OK, so, how does this make sound the medicine of the future ... well let's bring it back to us and the body. After all, the body is the bridge between heaven and Earth, and at this moment in time here on Earth we are being asked to come back home to our bodies.
We are sound! Yes—we are sound. Just like every object in the universe has a resonant frequency, an average vibration, so does every part of our body. All the bones tissues and organs have their own resonant frequencies. Many of the sounds of our body fall below our range of hearing into infrasound, so we're not walking around thinking hey, I am sound. I am a vibrational being. But we are. We are all vibrational beings when you get right down to it.
So when we connect to sound through vibrational tools like tuning forks and the voice, we connect to ourselves at the very most essential level of our existence: sound vibration. When we work with vibrational tools we come back to the nature of the body and can begin to remember the language of the body. We can being to listen to what the body needs and what is it asking for—and we can move through this crazy world with more ease. This is vibrational remembrance.
Our intention is remind you that you are sound.
